Outstanding students from the Central Conservatory of Music, Shanghai Conservatory of Music, China Conservatory of Music, Tianjin Conservatory of Music, Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, and Xinghai Conservatory of Music made a brilliant first impression on both American and Chinese professors on the very first day!
The New York Times praised his piano performance as: "Extraordinary authority, flawless, and impeccable." His "richly colorful and resonant sound" and "exhilarating surges of power" have led critics to compare Marc Silverman to the legendary pianist Josef Hofmann.
Time is limited, but knowledge matters most
It must be said that the students demonstrated exceptional enthusiasm in class, and the instructors taught with equal dedication. On the third day, we visited the Manhattan School of Music and met with Meland Peters, Chair of the Voice Department. Students described him as having the "appearance of a Slytherin but the passion of a Gryffindor!"
Today, MRL Music Festival participants had the extraordinary opportunity to engage in close mentorship with Humphrey Koeppel, a distinguished vocal coach trained under the legendary Nico Castel of the Metropolitan Opera!
